06 Cooper S Convertible Passenger seat

I have a 2006 Mini Cooper S Convertible.....So my passenger seat will not adjust the height, moving the lever to adjust height does not work. the lever will move up or down but the seat wont. anyone experienced this before...open for recommendations on what to do please. Thank you

Same thing happened to my 06 r52. I had to take the seat out once and when I put it back in the lever worked again. No idea how it fixed itself.

Maybe I should try to do that too and take the seat out. Who knows I might get lucky and get it fixed like you did. Thank you.

Watch taking the seat out as if you disconnect the wiring it can lead to an air bag code that the dealer has to reset.

Thanks...Maybe I won't do it...Hate going to dealer...hoping to fix the seat soon though...making a trip to Northern Michigan in August "Mini on the Mack"...my wife won't be a happy camper if seat not fixed...Happy wife-Happy Life.

Chek the little strut and the mechanism, yes and watch that seat, if you take it out and have to unplug it make sure the car battery is unplugged.





I would swap the strut first:

That's called the gas spring for the seat vertical adjustment? they go bad am assuming I will check it out...Thank you
