Is it base or Turbo?

how did you charge the car?

can you confirm the voltage on the battery?

Getting a power steering error and the fan isn't getting power and seeing as those are on the same relay I take it that relay is bad. Maybe the starter relay also??

it is tricky. Can you inspect the fuse box by the passenger side. see if it has water damage or intrusion.

nothing there. car was stored in a big garage the night it was charged and wasn't raining the day before when I drove it. Defiantly the charge that did it. Seems like the immobilzer isn't working with the key

Although it is rare for the immob to loose its senses, nothing is impossible.

Do you have INPA with K+Dcan cable? If not, you should get one ASAP. It allowes you to see faults on ALL modules and it will show you which module is dead or alive.

you're getting a 'yellow key'

looking at the 2007 owner's manual I see two icons with a key

one is a key with a slash:

Remote control malfunctioning or, in
cars with convenient access, not
detected

The engine cannot be started. Have
the remote control checked, if necessary.

and the other is a key with a battery ....

Battery in remote control discharged

Use the remote control for a longer
journey or, in cars with convenient
access, replace the battery.

yeah pelican parts has a write up on it and says its 2 hrs. Now I have to have the keys programmed. I dabble in the car business and wondering if I should get the icon a2 bmw hardware and software and do it myself. I have a 2012 mini also and have sold some of my clients mini's and the being able to have these tools would be great. But how hard are they to use. All the ones ebay has are Chinese. Are they basically the same program?

if it is the cradle (ignition start/stop module) that needs the replacement, then it does not need to be programmed. it is plug and play. Icom tools are good for BMW F series and if you want to updated modules on the MOST bus (radio, Navi, amp...etc)

yes it should work fine...done 10^10 times..

Not sure on the programming of the key. I wasted alot of money buying tools from china to do that, and it isnt worth the cause. There is a guy on ebay (6167 username) he can add a keyfob to your CAS (you need to send that to him). i think his charge is much cheaper than the "stealer"

I think you need to verify that replacing the cradle will at least let you start the car.
