overheating issue

hi, I have a 2004 r50 base model, I recently replaced the "t hose connector" since it had broke in the middle, for the cooling system, bought new clamps and checked that the hoses had no holes or cracks, I turn it on and again its over heating, I then changed the thermostat and housing with also new clamps but its still overheating, I tried to bleed the system since no warm air comes thro the heater and no luck still over heats within 10 min. I have no idea what else to look for besides the water pump or the head gasket but I really doubt its any of them, any one go thro this issue? help please

I have no experience with an R50 but on an R53 (should be similar) check to be sure the low speed fan is working as well as the P/S fan. Either fan malfunctioning would cause overheating.

My money is on there being air in the system. these things can be really hard to bleed sometimes. My preferred method is to add as much water/coolant to the top of the radiator and into the top hose sometimes. The other possible thing could be a clogged heater core, but I lean more towards air in the system.

Heater core clogs are fairly slim occurrences but I've replaced a few. I would also lean towards an air pocket in the system at this point.

The Cooper has a bleed valve for the heater core near the back of the engine bay, you have to be extremely careful in bleeding there though, the chances of you breaking that fitting are high if you don't use finesse.

Have you pressure tested the system yet?
