Spark Plug replacement on Mini Maintenance Plan
Under the extended Maintenance plan i.e. the book states that Spark Plugs are to be replaced at 60,000 miles. My car was missing ( car has approx 72,000) miles on it and I asked the Dealer why he had not replaced the spark plugs. He told me that the Computer system did not say they needed replacing and recommended I have new coils. I asked him if the computer told him I needed new coils and he said NO, but the mechanic thought that was the problem. I asked them why did they rely on the computer to tell them I did not need plugs but suggested coils even though the computer did not tell them to replace them.
I showed him the Extended Maintenance Book where it stated clearly that sparks plugs were to be changed at 60,000 miles. I left the dealership and then called Mini Customer service and had the issue resolved.
If you have the extended Mini Maintenance Plan , check it , Spark parks plugs are covered at 60,000.

Yeah...I like the guys at my dealership, but they can't solve a couple of minor issues like the top's motor cover that keeps falling off, or the driver's window that sometimes doesn't roll down enough when I open the door...
