I noticed a problem with my acceleration on a road trip, I was in cruise control and after awhile when going uphill the cruise control would fail and shut off, after awhile all acceleration was slowed. I hit the gas and the RPM's go up but there isn't any get up and go. No check engine light and my fuel economy seems to be the same. I've searched for similar problems online but can't find any real ideas as to what it could be. Please any sort of help as to what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

 

You need a new clutch..

 

Yes that is the clutch. Will start slipping first going up hill and/or under high loads. Use a lower gear when going up hills and try not to short shift or 'gun it' in 5th or 6th in order to save a little more time out of the clutch. I would start doing research for a repair place.
