'13 r56 Dash liner separating from plastic underneath

Hello All,

I was trying to search for this, however I don't think I found the right words.

Has anyone had issues with the lining of the dash nearest the window, separate from the plastic structure underneath? When I touch it, it feels like there is a top layer that has tension, spanning across a void curve. It seems like the glue that would normally attach the 2 layers is failing?

Right now I only see it in front of the driver side of the front windshield.

Is this serviceable within 40k/3 year warranty?

My coworker called it a "bubble". Yep. That might be a good word to describe it.

Do you have pics ? It should be covered it you are still under warranty.

I had an 07 and the dash never had that issue. Do you live in a extremely hot climate or somewhere like las vegas ?

Attached the pics. You can barely tell, but if you compare the pics you can see the difference in shading where I press my finger. This bubble occurs on both driver and pasenger side.

Ah .. you have the factory leather dash.... thats makes sense., No to many people have that.

Its the banjo effect of the leather dash. On older cars this happens with cars and leather dashes. Seen it with Bentley and rolls Royce allot. Whats happens is the leather shrinks and then pulls to tight. Have MINI check it out under warranty and treat the dash with leather cleaner / conditioner to keep it from getting tight.
