Parking-Emergency Brake Issues
Parking-Emergency Brake Issues
I have a 2005 and when the temp drops the driver's side rear brake sticks. It is clearly related to the parking brake. I had this problem a few years ago and replaced the rear calipers (both) for a different reason, I flush my brake fluid every two years (I love the Motive Bleeder) so i so do feel either of those are the culprit. I did a search and the problem seems to be fairly common for those in colder climates....especially with the 04 and 05 years. I am curious, has anyone filed a report with the NHTSA? https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/
Mine happened again this morning...27 degrees in the garage and i had no problems. I drove to starbucks and left the car running (keep the spousal unit warm) and was back in no more than 5 minutes and the parking brake was stuck... the car was warmed up yet the DS rear brake was stuck..wth?
if you have had this issue, please report it to the NHTSA

You either need a caliper/s or park brake cables, with the system in working order they don't stick on.
Cables aren't that expensive, they are a touch over $100 for both of them and the install is quite easy.
