R5x windshield cowl help please

After replacing battery my cowl pieces have become so dry-rot from sun exposure, they are cracking and ugly as hell.
I have ordered new ones from ECS and also the clip that fits on bottom of windshield that the cowl pieces also clip into from.
I needed this part too because mine is loose and moves when trying to clip cowl piece down into it.

How does this attach securely to bottom of window??? friction? epoxy ?

When I had it replaced , the glass company repaired it and I believe it was set in with the glass. ( Was not there to see it done ). But very close to the old glass sealing ( betalink ). You can ask safelite and call you local one and ask if they have done MINIs before. The guy who did my glass said the top seal is the one thats mess up all the time.

The top one I know its set in :

after calling Safelite, they informed me it is held in place via friction only.

Thanks for the info. Last time i looked at it mine had a little bit of betalink touching it, so must have been just the spillover on the install.
