Stupid stupid mistake.... Let my lucus smoke out somewhere

Just wanting to find out if anyone else has been as silly as me.

I put a Newman cam in my s couple days ago. When the cam was in I went to turn the motor over a few times before refitting to rocker cover. Forgetting that the main engine earth bolts up to the engine mount which was off at the time. It cranked a couple times then stopped. With a faint smell of burning wiring in the air I quickly began to stress. She would not crank again after that. I quickly re assembled everything correctly. Turned the key. It fired up no worries. Drove brilliantly for a day!!! However I did notice that it held the revs alittle longer then usual between gear changes.

This morning on my way to work she dropped into limp mode :/ codes came up as p1125 p1229 p0123 p222. All pointing to throttle area. Although 30 mins later she was good as gold again.

Has anyone been as silly as me before and know where they do the damage?

I have a spare engine harness I'm going to swap into it over the weekend. See if that helps.

Ive got 2 weeks to get her healthly again. The Australian Hay mini nationals are then. With a 700km drive to get her there

Lol yehh I know. Funny to relate back to old school though.

I've actually sorted it out. Turns out nothing was damaged. Completely coincidental. Throttle body shat it's self. I did pull the engine harness out inspect it all. Which has just given me an excuse to throw in a lightened flywheel. I figured it's half way apart so why not.

There's a couple of guys in my local Mini club that had throttle body failure. They code and go in limp mode and goes back to normal after being reseted, but will completely fail later. Might want to look into it.
