Silly dipstick question

OK...this one is goofy...but has anybody else noticed that the dipstick is a)difficult to get in and out of its housing smoothly and b)tough to read?

Wondering if this is standard or something I need to investigate...

Yeah, ever since they started using the Teflon coating on the dipstick, it's been a real pain...

Extraction and Insetion of the dipstick is made slightly easier by rotating it about 1/4 turn when you are pulling or pushing. I have yet to find anything that makes it easier to read although I'll bet that the dirtier your oil is, the easier it is to see.

For those who might have upgraded their dipstick to the MINI wing handle tip, does that dipstick insert any better/easier or is it any easier to read?

The MC dipstick is supposed to be easy to read.

The MCS dipstick is not so easy. Unless the oil is black.
The synthetic oil stays pretty clear so that doesn't help

No the wing tip handle version stick is harder to use. I believe the company that makes them Moss is no longer going to carry them because of too many complaints and returns.
I had one and live in Southern California, never snows, and found in the morning it gets stuck. Others have reported pulling the wing off the stick leaving the stick stuck.
Anyrate right now the plastic one from Mini is the only one that works as well as it works.
