Petrol Tank popping and fuel gauge all over the place

Hey guys so I have been having my fair share of problems with this car since the clutch was changed.

Most recently the fan started staying on and the fuel guage giving all weird readings. Further more when parked I can hear it popping.

After a long drive, if I try and open the fuel tank whilst its idling its near on impossible as their is loads of vacuum.
Decided to check the EVAP system and found you can test it with ohm meter.
I am getting 32.8 Ohm. I read a BMW forum and the they say the norm is 26.8 and a high reading means its stuck open. I am not sure how high teh reading should be for a MINI EVAP sysem.

I opened the fuel sender to check if it is working properly, and manually lifted the leveler and that showed the lights go up and down normally on fuel guage.

I am guessing the reading is going crazy cause the vacuum is so high.

My question is can I bypass the evap system to test whats going on, or does the ohm reading confirm its stuck open?

Any other tests you guys can recommend will be most grateful.

No errors on OBD2 relating to this issue.

Ok I think I solved this problem. So after extensive research I finally found out what the problem was. To sum it up, I had serious misfires and a popping tanks and the gauge going all over the place.

Solution simple.

When the clutch was changed, the damn mechanic piped the vacuum pipes wrong and was causing the vacuum to go away.

I am concerned that it might have caused some damage as it was causing the fuel pump, power is back but not 100.

I am still getting one or two error codes, but I am on it.
