anyone seen the two different floor mats available? I went with the rubber because my salesman said they will last a lot longer cause if they get dirty you can just wash them off. Are they as nice as the carpet though?

Depends whether you like rubber or a more natural feel...
I like the natural and went for the carpets, depends on your
seasons to. Up north I'd go rubber.

I too have the nice, heavy rubber mats - they are soft enough to almost feel like carpet! It is nice to be able to hose them off; The only complaint might be that on hot &/or sunny days, there is the faint smell of burning rubber when I open the door ... ... by the way, my first Mini (1960 Morris 850) had rubber mats as standard - no carpet available

I've got the MINI carpet mats that came with the Cooper and bought a set of rubber front mats for the wet winter months. One $10 Target black-carpet rear mat fits nicely just under my feet to give me years more wear on the carpeted mats.

The carpeted mats look good and are very durable, should last a long time. I have found them easy to keep clean, I even got some clay dirt on them and took a stiff brush and it came out clean as new. If you live in snow country, I'd have the rubber for winter because you can dry them in a hurry.

I would suggest a pair of each kind then you will have all the bases covered.

There was a fair bit of input on this subject here if you're interested.

Just got my WeatherTech mats from Mini Mania. The passenger side fits good, drivers side does not fit???? It needs to be trimmed at the kick panel and the dead pedal, which is kinda pointless when buying a mat with a catch lip all the way around. I thought I would pass this info along to anyone considering these mats. I hope Husky Liners makes some front mats for the Mini soon, I have/had them in just about everything and they are great. :???:

I went with the rubber ones too. We live in the country with dirt driveway and lots of mud. Previous experience told me that I could never get the dirt out of the carpet.

Anybody know if there are carpeted mats available to match the lapis blue leather and blue carpet? From MINI or elsewhere.

Weather Tech informed me that they only made mats for BMW and no one else. Have to check out MM.

i just purchased the black rubber mats, and i'm pleasantly surprised how great they look, how easy to clean they are, & how many people now, actually notice the floor mats.
peace,
d

Theres a place that sells coconut hair mats , black with blue dots...very nice with heavy prongs to hold them in place....although $$$...but can't complain since the cheap rubber MINI mats were $100!

I don't know of any particularly good aftermarket floor mats yet, but I have used WeatherTech ones in the past with great success. They are heavy rubber and can hold a lot of water if necessary.

I got the carpet mats, and I really don't have any problems with cleaning them. The mats are so small anyways that when I need to clean them, I just pop them out, smack em around a bit and thats it. I do the same thing with the car, just a little less smacking cause the pdc goes off when I get too crazy.
