LIGHTS, IDIOT LIGHTS - Any one?

I own a 2009 Clubman with appx 65K on it. Car has been serviced regularly - was in for service in August. The light on the tachometer has been coming off intermittently when I start it - the yellow one that tells that there is an exterior bulb is burned out. I've done the 360 check, no lights burned out, generally it goes off a couple minutes after driving.

New problem yesterday - was driving at normal speeds, the radio quit, the readout with station went blank and every idiot light went on and the speedometer conked out. This lasted for about ten seconds, no loss of power, but then everything went back to normal. The little red light with the car on the lift came on briefly then disappeared - low tire pressure light came on as did engine light (yellow) the (!) light - all of them. Again, this all cleared within a couple of seconds - the engine was running fine - I was excelerating to get on the interstate -and had no problem.

Drove the car the rest of the day without a problem no more lights.

Has anyone had this issue occur?

Thanks!

My guess would be your battery is dying. Only electronics acting crazy is usually a sign of that.

I'd agree on the battery, most cars last about 5 years.

I also had mystery 'light bulb out' warnings. It turned out to be the license plate lights. One was out and the other was intermittent.

Yep sounds like the battery bug let loose in your Mini caused by a dying battery, my original battery is still going strong.

Also check the electrical cables are attached to the battery properly and again check the battery for voltage. If bad , replace. Battery is located under the plastic cowl on the passenger side. , It has a small access panel to look at it. But to change it the whole plastic panel comes off.

Thanks and good luck.
