ABS/DSC lights always on
ABS/DSC lights always on
My ABS/DSC lights are constantly on. Is there a way to do a reset to ensure it is not a fault? If so and the lights come back on I will assume that the sensors are worn and will have to change them out. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Lights go off when faults are corrected. To answer your question you can disconnect the battery for 20 mins or so or perform a reset on the ECU. This would in effect clear the lights if the fault was no longer present however if the lights are on then the fault exists. I assume you do not have scanner to identify the culprit. Most likely a sensor, check the right front first (cable contacts front crank pulley and wears through), after that trial and error. Watch out for cheap aftermarket sensors on eBay for $12 or so, some work some don't.
Have you checked the tire pressure of all four tires?
Have you switched wheel size, as I do when I go from summer to winter wheels?
I would get this error once in a while with my 2002 MCS when the front wheels would spin (one wheel in snow, other on solid ground). I would do the reset function for tire pressure monitoring and the "trouble" lights would go off.
