No AC... Fan seems to work, but does not come on when AC does
2009 MCS 104k miles
I am still learning the forum, so please bear with me as I find where to post this? This is my third time, I only hope this is correct now! MOds feel free to delete previous wrong placements...
I spent all day looking for definitive answers and searching the forum.
NO JOY.
So please, help me out?
(Mods, if there is a better place for this post, please move it, by all means!)
I put 12 volts to the fan, it works fine, but there is no power coming to it.
The AC compressor is engaging, I can hear it. But no cold air.
Worked fine two days ago. No symptoms of failure.
NO CEL or codes.
No fuses blown.
swapped the relays around, no change.
I even disconnected the battery at the ground, then reconnected it. No change.
I have had the car 2 months now. I love it, but it makes me nervous.
Thoughts?
IS this the dreaded low speed fan resistor?
Please, Obi Wan! Your my only hope!

OKAY...
The high speed fan DOES come on. It even comes on AFTER the engine is shut down. I understand this is normal, so no worries...
But there is no fan coming on when the AC is turned on. I will replace that resistor, then see what's up with the AC.
What should be the resistance across the pins if it is a 3 pin connector?
What is a good source for a replacement resistor?
How does one test the AC compressor?
Thanks for the responses guys. PLEASE keep them coming. I am a noob to this car, but I appreciate the forum. I was a frequent flyer on the Impala forums back when I had one, and I have come to truly value this venue for information!
