Ah.... another code has been thrown at me.
P0444, evap control purge valve...

Checked the gas cap, checked the wires goes into the purge valve.

I am guessing it must be the purge valve itself???

any other possible areas that I may want to check before I order that part????

 

that valve is a simple on/off solenoid that is normally closed with no voltage applied. if you cap one end and apply vacuum (with a pump or your mouth AT YOUR OWN RISK) it should remain closed and hold vacuum. if it does not hold vacuum, the valve has failed. if it holds vacuum, the control side of the valve (ie the power source and/or ground is at fault.
