Installing supercharger inlet tube
I'm going to pull my car apart tomorrow night to diagnose a P1498 code. I'm suspecting the supercharger inlet tube is leaking, so if I confirm it is I'm going to pull it off the car and put some RTV over the seams.
Thing is, I'm a little terrified of the plastic inlet tube and the green gasket. I've read a lot of threads on reinstallation, but one question I had, is it easier to jam on when the bypass valve is off that short rubber tube? Is there a reason no one seems to suggest pulling it off to ease reinstallation? Looks like it would make it easier to me.

Loosen the lower hose clamp on the bypass rubber hose
Remove the supercharger inlet, leaving the rubber hose on the BPV
Install the new green gasket on the supercharger
Pull up on the TB when reinstalling the supercharger inlet.
Use a hook or a thin screwdriver to help seat the inlet into the BPV hose.
Can take a bit of muscle but with practice it can be done in seconds.
