I have a 2010 MCS w/manual trans.

A week or two ago I was reversing with the wheel turned to the right and I heard a fairly loud 'clicking' or 'ratcheting' sound.

It stopped as soon as I stopped the car before I put the trans into 1st gear.

I heard it a few more times, always in reverse, and usually when the steering wheel was turned to the right.

It does not do it every time I reverse.

A couple of days ago it made the same sound in reverse but the wheel was straight. I was backing up fairly quickly in a straight line and I heard the same clicking/ratcheting sound.

It sounds like it come from the front driver side.

Any ideas?? Any body else have this issue??

I'm going to call Mini and see if they will take a look.

 

Nobody else have this problem?
Or know what this might be?

Whatever it is I hope it's covered under the warranty....
