I had one of the first BMP intakes that was made for the MCS. At that time I had nothing to compare it to, but it did give an increase in power. BMP advertises 12.9 hp, others tested it and they say 4 - 5 hp. I have no idea which is correct. All I know is that it made a big difference when I took the intake out and returned the car back to stock specs. This difference was very noticeable as the throttle response lagged and top end performance suffered. The butt dyno says 4 - 5 hp is definitely there and 12.9 hp is doable.

I think your better off installing a K&N air filter and using the stock box since it actually gets true cold air ramed from the front of the car.

As far as I can tell there is no true cold air intake for this car at the moment. All the intakes take in air from the back dead space in the engine compartment. What does that mean? Taking in allot of hot air. This does not help to much with performance I am sorry to say.

Unless someone cuts the hood and builds a ram scoop towards the top of the hood I don't see how the current cold air intakes could be that much of an advantage.

All that polish metal looks really nice under the hood.

And we probably need to check/clean/re-oil the filter - it's been in there since October and through a few dusty road trips.

Otherwise, we never really feel any difference when we swapped back in the OE intake for dealer trips.
