MAF Sensor Issues
MAF Sensor Issues
Ok so I have a 2008 Clubman S and just finished a mostly successful head gasket replacement. Ran into a couple of issues though (mainly electronic). I have a check engine light and get a code for the MAF sensor. When we went to crank the car it would shut off after a second and we found out that if we disconnect the MAF sensor it runs as it should (aside from an ocassional ruff idle dude to no sensor). The problem is when we connect the sensor the engine immediately shuts off. I'm thinking there's a short of some kind or some issue with the sensor. I just replaced the part with a used MAF sensor but that didn't help. Any suggestions? And any objections to running the car temporarily without the sensor connected? Thank you.
