So after reporting my grievances to Mini Cooper HQ as well as speaking to the GM of the dealership, Mini has agreed to offer the car back to me as well as cover most of the repairs. I must say that I am very impressed by the GM and his willingness to correct the problem.

Thank you all for your support and advice!

Agreed that is excellent news! I'm starting to get the feeling that MINI is beginning to realize they're going to have to soak up a lot more repairs and have accepted it rather then try to play hardball with us.

That's great news!

During my VW ownership tenure, I always bought from the dealer not with the best price, but with a great staff. They helped out a lot on my behalf.

FWIW, my 07 VW suffered from both the bad cam and bad leaky waterpump. I never had a coolant smell yet began to lose copious amounts. I always drove on the highway and the pump only leaked under high pressure.

Bat: Just curious about the general location of your dealers. I assume odds are slim that you are near Pgh, since we don't have a second dealer less than two hours away.

Very glad to hear that you re-thought what you had done.

Speaking to Mini HQ and to the Dealership changed the whole outcome of this very large mess.

I can only hope that Mini as a company has changed their way of thinking, and will start taking care of all the loyal Mini owners as they have you.

We love our cars and only want them to Keep Motoring; Why else would we have bought them in the first place.

Good for you and your soon to be repaired Mini !

Thanks Mini, for taking care of your customers !!!!!!!

I blew a head gasket from not checking coolant levels due to thermostat housing crack. I've learned my lesson and will hopefully soon be selling my Mini. Gotta get rid of it before anything else happens.
