Hello,

Just picked up a 2003 S with 52k on it yesterday. One particular issue the car does have it that over uneven road or bumps it has a very loud noise. It sounds like 2 pieces of plastic are tightly bound together and are grinding on each other.

It sounds like it's coming from the rear driver side area.

I pulled the seats down the test and the noise still happens. Anyone else run into this? What was the cause?

Found a similar post in the gen 2 forum and figured I'd try it.

I put black tape on the rear hatch latch and the noise disappeared.
