R53 rear Fog help needed

R53, production date 06/06:

I installed the light, had the wiring tucked away, took it to the dealer to program and my car lacks the wire from the black plug behind the panel to the BCM. Uhhh, so now what??

The tech said you can pull the wire/pin for the driving light and move it to the blank slot for the fog lights in the black plug behind the switch panel. I don't get it, doesn't that wire still just go to the BCM? Basically I see it as just moving the signal source to the next switch. He also suggested running a wire from the switch panel to the BCM. I'm perfectly comfortable with that, but where do I run the wire to, and which pin do I plug into?

Has anyone else dealt with this?

*i do not want to use an external switch, or hook it up to the brakes - I want it to function 100% OEM.

Well, I know why I get paid handsomely to so car electronics. Had the fog working in 10 minutes (after programming).

Since I didn't have a wire from the switch to my BCM, I put a pin in the blank spot (to the left of the black w yellow stripe) and I jumped that pin to the black/ yellow. Ignition on, lights on, hit the switch and viola, fog turned on.

Yeah, I had thought of that, but I wanted it to be truly independent as a fog light. A simple jumper wire and ta-da!
