2012 R56 RPM issue

I've owned my 2012 R56 since 6/2012 and this issue just started 2 days ago. I stopped at a light and my RPMs stayed at 3,000RPMS. When driving it feels like the RPMs are not dropping in between shifts and lunges when I shift. I lost my pops in burbles in Sport mode. If I am stopped in 1st gear and I blip the throttle the RPMs remain high. Does anyone know what this could be? I just picked it up from Keeler MINI and it is still doing the same thing. Here is a video of what I was describing when I rev and it holds:

Wait you just picked it up from the dealer and they didn't fix it?

I am having the "almost stall at idle" problem as well. They added oil and said it was A-OK. Apparently they were wrong . I literally just picked up the car 20 minutes ago! I called them as soon as I got back because I am not a happy camper. I took the day off of work to get the car fixed; it's my only mode of transportation. They told me to bring it back tomorrow morning. They recommended calling Enterprise Rent a Car and paying the "discounted rate" of 30 dollars a day coming out of my pocket with no loaner option! Not a good first impression with Keeler MINI service department!

I am another Keeler customer with mixed feelings. On one hand they fixed the car (stalling '10 MCa) after almost 3 months of individual day visits plus two separate one week stints. Luckily I am retired and had alternate transportation. Hang in there, they will fix your car but the lack of urgency will be maddening.

I am pleased to say Keeler seems to have found the problem. Some how two triangular shaped stones managed to lodge themselves under the accelerator pedal and keep the throttle from returning back up completely. I'm picking it up tonight. It has to go back in on Monday however... to have my factory JCW exhaust installed

After playing a little phone tag I have to update my experiences with Keeler; they have been nothing but courteous and informative throughout the whole process. My only gripe is they do not offer loaners. Other than that I would recommend them!

I am glad that your experience with Keeler turned out good. What an odd problem. Glad your experience turn to be positive. We bought our first MINI from them almost 10 years ago now. I then bought a '07 S that had all the problems that the Gen IIs had. I always felt that they tried hard to fix everything, even when they were not well supported by MINI Corporate. I now have a 2012 S that they have taken care of quite well, but thankfully I have not had many problems with it so my recent experience with Keeler has been minimal.

Say do you know about our BMWCCA MINI club meetings at the Pump Station? It is a great group and the next one is March 5th. It would be great to have you join us, all are welcome. http://www.mpgminis.com/

I gather the loaner issue is not uncommon....

Here in Toronto, if you buy your Mini in the local town of Markham, they do give loaners - suburbia in competition with Acura and the other Japanese makes who loan with no thought whatsoever! Downtown in Toronto, if you BUY the car there, they will discount the loaner to $20 but if not, $65 a day...

I am Disgusted!!!! $40000 cars MUST have loaners included if you ask me...

Sigh....

Rant complete!
