Stuck Parking Light - Won't shut off

I have searched and searched and found several operator error issues such as turn signal left down etc.

My driver side parking light WILL NOT TURN OFF. I was waxing the hood and headlights and there was some static I heard and poof the parking light turned on and I have tried pulling fuses, pulling the plug on the light and neither has worked. It looks brighter than normal as well.

Did my waxing the headlight cause enough static? I though maybe the pressure applied to remove the wax did something, but I am at a complete and utter loss.

I hope it doesn't run the battery down. If I unplug it I get an error and the blinker goes fast. I have also completely removed the bulb from the housing and the sub housing with no luck.

If this is the "Standing Lamp" option it sure as heck can't figure out how to turn it off! Page 44 of the manual was no help. My MINI w/ Nav seems to have a different option set than the manual shows for adjusting the headlamps. And the Nav only has two options. Daytime running lights & Pathway lighting timer.

Maybe I should have labeled this thread stuck turn signal. There must be a relay that is stuck open.

Any suggestions??? Today is Saturday and I can't get the car in until Thursday.

Disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes and then reconnect. Might have to reset the radio and clock but it might work.

Great idea!

Unfortunately I tried your idea after you suggested it (battery disconnect) and it didn't fix it.... :(

Just wanted to post my thanks for the idea!

Looks like the static build up in removing the car wax is causing a short in the BCM in the footwell. Here is link to the post.
