Self-Dimming Rear View Mirror not Dimming

Maybe it is just me being a bit dim witted about this but my self dimming rear view mirror does not seem to work. I do have the rear hatch window tinted and I am not sure if that is causing a problem or if there is some adjustment that needs to be made. Any guesses as to what a solution might be?

I'm having the same issue. I swear it used to work. I thought it might be the rear tint, but then my window became untinted and it's still not working.

Is there a definite way to test the mirror to confirm it definitely works or does not? Mine appears not to work but since it is the same now as when I bought the car I have nothing to compare to.

When I first used mine, I tried covering up the front hole (which tells the mirror if it's dark out) during the day and saw the change in the mirror view.

ACE, if you're still out there - have you tried moving your mirrors recently? I installed power folding mirrors, and a wiring hack led to my fuse blowing. Recently fixed the hack and replaced the fuse (#35 on my car) and voila! the autodimming mirror works again!! It's an awesome change!
Once again, when I cover the front hole in the daylight (making it think it's night) I can watch the mirror dim. Driving home tonight was a pleasure!
