A/C help

I am changing my A/C compressor and drier. I have an expansion valve, but haven't been able to locate it. How do I get to it. I hear it is in the dash? What's the chance of a problem if I don't replace it on a 2005 S?

Why do you want to change it? My compressor died, I replaced the compressor and drier and all is well.

Compressor and drier install. Recharged but only blowing cool air. When I had it recharged, the tech said the high pressure reading was jumping up and down. Still waiting for someone to help on the expansion valve. Don't know what to do now. Is the compressor at risk?

I didn't know to flush condensor when I installed the new compressor, so I did that today. It lowered the air temp. considerably. It's still not as cold as it should be, so now I need to figure out how to change the expansion valve. It anyone has experience w/ one, let me know.
