In March I installed a new BMW Belt tensioner and belt on my R53. The new tensioner has been rattling from day one. Is this a defective unit or can I remove it and and solve the problem myself? I've seen a similar problem on You Tube, the sound is identical with this guys tensioner. However no solution was given. Thanks.

 

I had the same thing happen, its the shock on the tensioner. You can try to use the bushings Way sells or wait till Alta finishes their solid arm replacement for the shock.
