Not your normal clicking steering

I've been having this problem just in the past two weeks and it has gotten noticeably worse in that time period.
2006 R53 with 95k miles.
About 3-4 months ago I replaced the control arm and front swaybar bushings with powerflex. (It may be related to that... but I don't think so) Used plenty of grease and even teflon tape on the swaybar.

About two weeks ago I noticed a slight clunking in the steering while turning at low speeds usually just off center. This problem has increased significantly but still only noticeably occurs at low speed (<10mph). Now there is clunking while turning in either direction at any position.

I've researched about this and found a lot of people having clicking issues. But it seems in every case that they could hear the clicking and it seemed to be coming from the column somewhere. Here's the weird thing...
The "clunk/click" is felt in the pedals and floor only! If I hover my feet in the air and turn the wheel I don't even know the problem is there. If I have the windows down I can sometimes hear something but it's not very audible (but surely coming from outside the vehicle). I've really got no idea on what this might be.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thread moved.

Something is loose. Hoist the car up and recheck any bolts you undid. If you undid the subframe, maybe check the steering column's connection to the rack.

For anyone that seems to have a similar problem, in this case it was the control arms bushings pretty badly worn. I put in polyurethane bushings (not a very easy task... for me at least).
Hope this helps those in the future diagnose what might be a similar situation.
