So I broke down and finally bought the bentley manual, and followed the clutch replacement steps exactly, but I'm now faced with an issue. The transmission and engine don't seem to want to separate, I've removed the starter, slave cylinder, drive axles, etc. and they only separate about 1.5inches, not enough to clear the input shaft. Is there a trick to getting them to separate? Does it make a difference if the car was in gear before I disconnected all the cables, etc.?
