Driving home last night the brake light came on with the Mini on the hoist. That has happened before just sitting at home and I would just shut the Mini, remove the key and the warning would go away. This time it didn't we were 45 minutes away from home. So with the brake light still on, we proceeded home, then about 10 minutes before home the red temperature light came on. We pulled over, stopped the Mini, the fan was running high. Hubby checked the coolant all seemed fine. Proceeded again the light turned yellow flicking back to red. The Mini was scheduled to have the inner sway bar bushings replaced today at our local mechanic. The Mini dealer is 3 hours away.

 

She had to be towed to the garage today. The back brakes and rotors have to be replaced and a sensor (one by the thermostat?) has to be ordered from the Mini dealer and also the inner swaybar bushings are being replaced. I will not have her for at least three days...I'm going to go nuts!

 

I am so happy to have my Mini back home. Everything is good and she runs like a new Mini! There is no more rattle or clunking noise or what ever you wish to call it in the boot. We have the best mechanic here in Northern NB. Thanks John V. I would recommend him to anyone. I'll have to write again to let you all know what specific parts and sensors were replaced encase it happens to someone else.
