i have an 03 mini cooper obviously the midlands trans but, i wanna know if it just stops going in gear. i was driving down the road. i get to a stop light, light turns green i put it in first and start going, go for second.. wait a min.. no second, so i pull over ( which so happened to be my works parking lot) and put it in neutral.. i get out look under car for fluid.. seem clean.. i get back in the car and the gears arnt there. i cant find any of them and where neutral is normally is the only gear that seems to work. i drove around my work building like 5 times not able to get into any gears but that gear had me going.any ways dose this sound like the normal midlands trans problem or dose it sound like something else? any info or help will be greatly appreciated

 

Check the shift cables. Make sure they didn't pop off the transmission. Have some shift while you watch to ensure proper movement. They are located under the battery.
