I have an 02 mini that has just had the body control processor module replaced. but it seems now that the remote key needs to be re programmed maybe? does anyone know?

 

Yes when the shop replaces it the computer will take the key data out of the old computer and has to transfer it to the new computer. If they don't your keys will never work, and you can't get the codes without the old computer.

 

I have a related key question. How do I get a 2nd key? I bought the car used and only received one key with it which I find odd. Are these keys prone to failure? What is the typical cost of getting another key? I've never owned a Mini before so this is all new to me.
