The day last month when I tool delivery of my MC was one of the few rainy days around here.
My sales assoicate noticed that there was condensation in my right rear tail light housing
She said to bring it back and I did this past week for a replacement light that had to ordered.

Well it was raining this week when I picked it up and I did not notice till this weekend that there is water againg in the light housing.

Has this happened to anyone eles? Let me know

I will be calling my dealer Monday morning.

Bill

YES! I noticed this the first time I washed Molly - and the silver trim under the lens is all peeled off and floats in the puddle of water that accumulates at the bottom. I called the dealer right after I noticed it and they said to schedule an appointment to bring it in which I'm just now getting around to. I'll let you know what happens.

BTW, it is the same light - rear passenger side.

Hi, I have the same problem, rear passenger site, Lulu is two weeks old and there is condensation under the plastic cover, only on the right side.

I also noticed the paint on the passenger door is not exactly the same color than the rest of the car. The difference is hard to detect, it is more apparent under certain lighting conditions. Rep from MINI Canada will look at the car tomorrow, I hope they do something, right now it is the only thing I see on the car.

Haven't had this exact problem but, keep getting water in the back up light underneath the rear bumper. I've sort of just given up.

Have also experienced issue - once after washing, once after rain - but not all the time as have washed and been in rain on other occasions.

Same here. A couple of weeks after having taken delivery, I also noticed water condensation inside the rear tailight assembly. Before bothering taking it back to the dealer I tried the following:

1) Open the hatch
2) Remove the right tailight side access cover plastic trim (Very easy to do, but go easy on the panel)
3) The tailight assembly is hold by a 10mm nut within a long thread screw. I found that for some akward reason, this nut is not tighten enough from the factory, causing the tailight plastic lens assembly not to "Seal" properly against the bodywork, hence allowing water to get in there.

4) get a 10mm wrench (Preferably with ratchet action) and re-adjust the nut. Do this slowly and do not overtighten!

5) Unless is raining, test the tailight seal with a garden hose. Dump a good amount of water over the rear tailight section and see if condensation continues to form.

6) If it does, continue to re-adjust the screw and water pressure test again.

7) The condensation problem should go away after rectifying this (It saves a trip to the dealer, ordering a new replacement part, etc).

If the problem continues, undo the nut from the thread and remove the tailight lens cover from the body work. Dry it with a hair dryer and then inspect the seal around it to see if it is broken or pinched. If it is, then take the car back to the dealer and have them order a new tailight assembly under warranty.

The left tailight is properly adjusted, is just the one on the right side. My problem went away since re-tighten the nut and saved me a 30 mile trip to the dealership. best of all this is a 2 minute fix.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Cooper4us that is great! Too bad the silver paint under the lens already flaked off of mine or I would try this - but I will keep in mind once I get a new one.
