Hi fellow NAMers...

Just got a call from my Service Advisor at Princeton MINI. My car has successfully completed it's 10K (first) service. They did the following:

1. Replaced oil and oil filter
2. Replaced "microfilter" (what's this? the air filter?)
3. Replaced the power steering fan diode as per a service bulletin pertaining to my car (May 03 Production Date)
4. Slightly moved the power steering pump reservoir away from the heatshield so its hoses won't rub against it anymore
5. Reprogrammed the car as per service bulletin # 12023. I asked "Does this mean it's been given program version 36?" and he was not sure; couldn't tell from the paperwork, just that it was reprogrammed and updated per Bulletin 12023.
6. Vaccuumed and hand-washed the car.

Can't wait to pick it up this evening and see if I can feel a difference due to the new program... the 04 Cherry Red/White CVT loaner is nice...but it's not MINIBoognish!

Rock On,

-Joe

Hey thanks for that post/explanation, minitothemax. It all makes sense now...

When I picked up my car from the dealer and drove away, I immediately felt a difference with the new program installed. My CVT behaves much better now, much like the '04 CVT they gave me as a loaner. Gone is that "dip" in RPMs when coming to a stop, as well as that hesitation when breaking away at the green lights... it's amazing what new software can do to a car.

Rock On,

-Joe
