Clutch Problems. No, my clutch isn't slipping.

Hey guys, my new to me mini just developed a really weird issue with the clutch that i've never experienced before. Right now when i depress the clutch pedal it doesn't really seem to do anything besides make a very loud, high-pitched whining screeching noise (like a belt slipping) because I can hardly engage the gears at all. About a week ago i was driving and for some reason my clutch pedal got stuck about halfway down so i had to bring it all the way back up with my foot. i thought this was strange, but didn't really think anything of it. Also recently my clutch pedal has had a lot of vibration in it which seem to get worse as the clutch pedal is depressed. I am thinking that perhaps the throwout bearing committed suicide, but I am not sure what that's like. Can anyone help me?

do you think it could be a combination of slave cylinder and clutch/flywheel because there is a LOT more going on than just the fact that the pedal gets stuck half-way up once in a while

Are you still having this issue? Sounds like the throwout bearing to me. Not good to drive it in this condition.
