Increased Emissions: O2 Pumping Current Sensor Open Circuity

I happen to get the error code "MINI 0x2A8B", listed as OBD2 code P2626. The INPA reading simply says "Leitungsunterbrechung" which means open circuit. The Bentley manual reads "O2 Sensor Pumping Current Sensor Open Circuity (Bank 1 Sensor 1)".

Currently, the error has not reappeared after deleting it. Any ideas? Maybe a connector? I tested the sensor in INPA and it appears to be reading correctly, the voltage fluctuates constantly and changes drastically on full throttle.

Mine was throwing SES errors on an increasingly regular basis. My independent tech said the O sensor (knock sensor?) was bad. Had that replaced and he handed me this http://www.toptiergas.com/ after which I found and used this http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp and haven't had a problem since. Apparently, ethenol is one of the major culprits in this equation. It could be what is bothering you.

Well, for the time being, the error did not reoccur. The Lambda sensor is functioning, as I tested it in INPA and it is giving back constant readings. It could have been intermittent... I don't have rough idle or anything else that would suggest a bad sensor, but I will keep an eye on it. A replacement from Bosch is not particularly cheap, around 150€ or 170$ (Bosch LS17112).

for what its worth, i found this thread when i googled P2626 (code popped up after i did a major service and unplugged the O2 sensor). code kept coming back every time i started and drove the car over the course of the week. apparently that connector has a tendency to get oil and grime built up on it, pretty common to knock a little grit in there when you un plug it.

unplugged the connector, sprayed some brake clean in there and blew it out with shop air. code fixed.
