New belt slipping after 2000 miles?

I have a 15% pulley with a Gates 60535 1379mm i installed 2000 miles ago. When just installed, I think I was able to see a bit of the 2nd pin hole, now I can barely see the first. Is that enough slack to cause slippage? The original belt provided by Alta (napa 060539 @ 1385mm) lasted a little under a year before it began to squeal. What's wrong with the Gates belt?

I get a ticking and squealing sound when car start. It's getting louder. When under WOT or anywhere near that, sometimes the lights on my speedo would flicker and the speedo shuts down and the orange light would blink on and off.

If I keep my foot buried, the speedo stays dead and the power steering goes out (I just replaced my alternator 2 months ago).

If I lift off, the speedo comes back to life almost immediately and power steering comes back maybe 10 - 15 seconds after that.

I assume the the alternator pulley is slipping on the belt and shuts down the alternator while the belt speeds up?

I don't know which belt to buy, most people on the forum recommends the NAPA 250 60535 which is the same length as the Gates i have on. Does it retain it's length better than the Gates?

Gates makes belts for NAPA. Put a Continental on there, problem solved. A few years ago I was testing rubber air brake hoses at work. It was basically a competitive benchmark test. Gates was dead last by a long shot. I've never used any of their products since.

What is the Continental equivalent for a NAPA 060532 belt?
