Hello,not been on here for ages,a quick question i have been runnin Mobil1 from new and it's no longer available,there's a company here selling Amsoil Euro Formula and they have a 5w-30 fully synthetic which is recomended for BMW VW Merc etc it has a rating ACEA A3/B3 A3/B4,would this be a good replacement?????.On a side note i have modded my R50 suspension with everything except coilcovers,i use FSD'S other than removing the powerflex bushing behind the dashboard(too much Vibration in the dash) and IE adjustable which are not noisy but if you dont use spray grease they can be.If i had to do it again i'd go with the fixed plates.This was all done by recomendations from you guys and this car rocks thanks to you guys on this forum.

 

I'm running Amsoil Signature Series 0W-30 in my 2004 S and it's great oil. Amsoil recommended this weight oil and that's why I switched from 5W-30. Amsoil products are top line and you shouldn't have any problems running it.

I selected the euro formula because it seems to be formulated for these long milage oil changes that Mini and i guess the euros want ,what the computer ask you to do is rediculous so i change my oil at half of what it suggest which puts me at about 6 months+.I live in a very warm climate so the 5w-30 is ok,sinse i posted i've popped out the handbook and this stuff meets the ACEA A3 spec so i'm gonna use it.You dont wanna know what the dealer wants for mini oil over here.I use Amsoil gear oil in my tranny from replacement under warranty and it works great the box is smoother than the Texaco oem stuff,so when i saw it available i jumped on it as i know it's a hi quality product.Thanks
