Service Engine Soon Light

Today I got my oil changed at Sears, Valvoline Full Synthetic. I got it done in Altoona, PA and today I drove back home to Atlanta shortly after getting the oil changed. After about 550 miles, which put me at about 10 hours in South Carolina my "Service Engine Soon" light blares across my tach.

My question to you is, could the wrong weight oil cause this to happen? Do you think there is any correlation to me having had an oil change the same day that this light came on? I looked around the engine bay and below the car looking for any leaks but it's dry, dip stick shows the proper level of oil.

Or do you think this is just a coincidence that it happened in the same day. I'm going to go get the code read first thing in the morning. >this is my first time dealing with a check engine light on any car I have ever owned<

Car Info: 2005 MCS, 6-speed, just shy of 90,000miles, VGS, Intake.

Until you get the code read there is no telling what is happening. I highly doubt that the wrong weight would toss a code, it is probably just a coincidence that it happened when it did.
