Hi All,
I didnt' find a related thread after doing a quick scan through the forum... so, here's a new topic:

Over the past few weeks, my '03 MCS has developed a rather strange noise from the engine compartment. It appears to be from around the area of the radiator fan. Although it probably occurs while the engine is running, it is most noticable when shutting down (no other sounds to compete against). The noise itself is non-metallic and low pitched. It sounds 'rotational' as if something is binding while spinning to a stop. Otherwise, it is very hard to describe. It does not sound like the power steering fan, nor is it coming from under the car.
Car is bone stock except for a power steering fan shroud installed 6 months ago. Our first birthday is in a few days along with the 18k mile mark.

To my untrained ears, I would venture a guess that it is a case where the radiator fan bearings or mount is going out.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Steve

I had a similiar sound, and they did something to the power steering fan which was part of a recall. The problem did not appear after that.
