But, but, but...... I can't FIND anything in the TIS/ETK.

For example, on Page 611-10 there is a picture, location and descriptionof the washer pump. Where in the heck do I find that information in the TIS/ETK?

Another example: Page 130-23 has a chart of "System-Voltage" versus target idle speed showing that the idle speed varies from 1100 RPM down to 800 RPM as the voltage goes from 11.0 Volts up to 12.0 Volts. Where can I find this in the TIS/ETK? I'm just not finding things in there that I think should be in there.

The Bentley manual is worth $100 just for the wiring diagrams in my opinion, but having a printed manual with pictures is wonderful.

 

Well most of us don't have access to the nice shiny service CD. :p

I just placed an order with wal-mart.com. Cheaper than amazon, but after shipping and tax, only by about 50 cents. It says "Will arrive by Thursday, 09/30/04." I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm going to replace my brake pads and although have found guides online, I think it's smart to have this as well, and of course will be very useful in the future.

One thing bently forgot was to stress tightening the bolt from the positive battery cable to the fuse box, or else you might end up jump starting your car in 90mph winds as I had to do with their MINI:

 

Well it turns out Moss does not have the manual either!
and they do not know when it will come in.

So I going to now try WalMart as well.

 

many people are out of the book. i have one and like it. it has all the info the TSI dosen't and is much easier to find the info in.

 

I got mine from Bentley.

It was here in 5 days, and I've bene enjoying it ever since.

 

We are currently out, but have more coming in tomorrow - wednesday the 21st or thursday the 22nd at the latest. They are $68.95.

Just got conformation from WalMart as well --- said it should arrive on Thursday, it was shipped yesterday.

My manual arrived yesterday!
I had just ordered it from Wal-Mart on Sept 20. So that was very quick!

I haven't had much time to read through it but at first look it looks very detailed. I can't wait to put it to use.

Is the general consensus that the Bentley manual is better? Or does is just have different stuff?

 

YAY! After battling with Amazon's Customer Service my Bentley Manual is en-route! I should get it tomorrow! I'm STOKED!

 

I thought that there is only one published manual which is the Bentley. Its the same if ordered from Amazon or Wal-Mart. Am I correct?
