Alternator Drive Belt - est. cost of replacement?
Hi there,
I own a 2010 Cooper S Hatchback. I sadly had a rat crawl in my engine and chew away at my alternator drive belt, according to the dealer's service dept. They quoted the work to replace the drive belt at 3 hours, but when I checked with another local dealer (albeit who hasn't seen the car), they said it would probably only be about an hour of work, thus cutting the price in half. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'd really appreciate it. I just don't want to get screwed because I had the good faith to have the dealership fix it for me.
