R53 Boost Leak? Intake Leak?

R53 Boost Leak? Intake Leak?

hello all,

I'm coming now with a problem that's getting me confused. I hope someone has passed by that and would chime in with ideas to solve my issue quickly and smoothly.

My datalogs show an abnormal difference between the two MAP sensors, which indicates a leak in the air intake system. I really do not know what to troubleshoot.

I know my JCW box is old and I'm running my car in an extremely hot weather. I know that I found few cracks in the JCW box, plus, check the attached images; I had one of the tubes connecting a hose cracked.



Would replaceing the JCW air box solve the problem? What else to look at?

What codes are you throwing. Ihad a problem with map and tmap sensors . replaced them and still throw P0107 codes at various times. Think I might hav to replace the bypas valve.

I'm not getting any codes. I checked my ECU couple of weeks ago. Datalogs did highlight that.

Below is a sample:

RPM: 5778
Throttle angle: 82.01
Pedal angle: 100
Manifold pressure 1: 1947.87
Manifold pressure 2: 929.17
AFR: 11.05

RPM: 6877
Throttle angle: 82.01
Pedal angle: 100
Manifold pressure 1: 2053.71
Manifold pressure 2: 896.75
AFR: 11.01

Those are live datalogs from my car with a wide open throttle. Sensor 1 is the intake sensor and sensor 2 is the throttlebody if I'm not mistaken. Any help?

The jcw airbox is just a filter box....you cold tape it up...keep the dirty air out....important....but look elsewhere.

I have no problems removing the airbox and go with the air line till the TB. But do you think just looking with bare eyes while the engine is off is enough?

Any specific procedures?
