This thread was a spot on diagnosis. Had trouble inserting/removing dipstick for couple days On 2007 Mine S with 124,000 miles. Then low oil pressure warning came on. Pulled over. Searched dipstick issues. Immediately towed car to very good repair shop. They confirmed disintegration of timing chain guides. Getting all repacked/repaired for very good price. Thanks for the cost saving insight
