**NEED HELP!** Lights flash off and on when trying to start!!!

Hey everyone! So now that spring is here, I decided to bring the MINI out of storage. Too no surprise, the batter was dead. (No i didnt take it out in fall like i should have) The battery is the OEM from 05. So i throw it on the charger for a few hours. Try starting the car, (and heres the weird part) nothing mechanical happens!! My headlights lights flash off and on, as do the door sill lights, and the dash all lights up like normal, but I dont hear the motor trying to turn over or ignition, or anything like that...

So, my question is, since it is the OEM battery from 05, is it possible that the battery is just shot, and there wasnt enough juice to get the car started!?

We tried to jump it with my brothers car, and same thing happend...

Today im going to get the battery checked to make sure its not DEAD, and Ill follow up with you guys later on to see what the deal is.

If the battery is fine, Im going to get worried that something else is wrong...Either way, Im going to the MINI dealer here in town on monday just to talk to them to get ideas. (Their nice here )

Thank you everyone for your help! Ill keep ya posted!

That.

If you have an ohm meter, you can check the battery's output.
1. It's 6 years old (at least)
2. It was connected for months, likely draining it.
3. Depending on the battery, a couple of hours may or may not be enough to charge it fully.
4. You may consider getting a trickle charger like the BatteryMinder.

***UPDATE***

Autozone said they couldnt do a test on the battery b/c it had no charge (6.5vlts) Told me to come back in an hour...So I did.

They told me the battery was shot...couldnt hold a charge. So i bought the expensive one they had there the Duralast Gold H5 DLG.

MINI is about 45min away in storage, and this afternoon I will be headed that way to bring er home! Ill update then...Thanks!
