I just changed the oil on my 05 MCS and when i went to reset the oil interval it wouldnt reset. i've done it 3 times already and the intervel is now at 12,700 miles till next oil change, but since i do it every 3,000 and my car resets to 16,000 i always change the oil around 13,000 till next oil change.

how come now even though i do every trick in the book i cant get it to display RST when i hold the trip and get to the SIA menu that comes on after test?

 

am i the first person ever with this problem?

 

Jeff: I don't know why your service interval isn't resetting, but some people who change their oil more frequently than scheduled just let the service schedule shown stay as is so they'll know when the next "big service" comes up.

 

hmm . . . that makes enough sense to me. i guess it really isnt a big deal. thanks for the tip
