Great car - worst armrest ever

My factory-installed armrest constantly slides open. Anyone have a fix? Warranty over.

Leave it in the up position, and open, and don't store anything in it. That's what I do.

There's a "euro" one or something that looks the same and opens upward instead of sliding backward. I've seen it for about $300 on ebay, but it's listed for the newer 07+ minis and I'm not sure if it'll fit in the older ones.

If you try it, let us know if it fits (so I can buy one).

Take a pair of long nose pliers and open the armrest then squeeze the lugs in the compartment together hard - thats what i did it nows tays shut 99% of the time

I put a couple drops of epoxy on the latch and shut it. It is no longer a storage compartment but it does not come open and makes a great armrest now. It is not like it held much of anything anyway.
