My 2008 cooper s had slowly started random misfires and overheating over the course of a month until it became so bad all of a sudden that it was undrivable. I trailered it to the dealership last thurday and got a call yesterday that it was a blown head gasket. It makes perfect sense knowing the symptoms and all but has anyone heard of this happening for no apparent reason on the 2nd gens? I was a bit surprised but at least its covered by warranty btw, my car only has 9000 miles on it

 

yowsa... defective components or improper torque on the heads from the factory? either way means you have a fresh one for more BOOOOOOST!
