2002 MINI Cooper - Need Battery Part Help

Hi folks. I own a 2002 Mini Cooper. I need to replace the distribution box (figure #2) on the following page: http://www.allminiparts.com/showAsse...assembly=12244 However, there is one for $45 and one for $195, depending on whether or not Battery master switch = Yes (S818A = Yes). Since it can be a 2002 Mini Cooper S on either I have no idea which to choose. Does anyone know how to find out what type mine is? I looked through my repair manuals and owner's manual and there is nothing. I have scoured the internet and found nothing. Please help. Respond to thread or email directly to jjohnston@paintingshorts.com. Thanks in advance.

I believe the battery master switch refers to the 250A master fuse in that box. Try this... take out your battery. Open the cover of the fuse box and see if you can locate the OEM part number inside it. Only other suggestion is to contact the dealership and ask which one you need.

OK, i went through my MINI ETK parts catalog program and this is what i can come up with:

MINI Part# for option 818: 61 12 6 922 465
Without Option 818: 61 13 1 508 927

Problem is that my MINI ETK program states that this part is for an R53 (MCS) ONLY and it is not found on the MC R50.

You'd either need to get the 11 or 7 digit part number off the original part to match up accordingly, or you'd need to contact a dealer and give them the last 7 of your VIN to find the correct part.
